Europe for Citizens


 

The project «MEM TWIN – Tales of Collective Memory» was funded with the support of the European Union under the Programme “Europe for Citizens”

Strand 2, Measure 2.1

“Town-Twinning”

 

Participation: The project involved 296 citizens, notably 87 participants from the city of Miercurea Ciuc (RO), 100 participants from the city of Gyorsag (HU) and 109 participants from the cities of Sagrado (IT) and Doberdò del Lago (IT).
Location/Dates: The event took place in Sagrado (Italy), Doberdò del Lago (Italy), Aquileia (Italy), Grado (Italy), S. Martino (Italy), Gradisca d’Isonzo (Italy) and Redipuglia (Italy) from 05/07/2015 to 12/07/2015
Short description:

 

The day of 05/07/2015 was dedicated to the arrival and welcoming of the participants (students, professors and project coordinators).

 

The day of 06/07/2015 was dedicated to guided tour of Doberdò del Lago, to a workshop on Environment, Nature, Sustainability within EU policies and to a multicultural concert.

 

The day of 07/07/2015 was dedicated to visiting Romans archaeological sites of Aquileia and Grado.

 

The day of 08/07/2015 was dedicated to First World War (visit trenches) and the Workshop on “Collective memory for the construction of a peaceful European future).

 

The day of 09/07/2015 was dedicated to field visits to Grado.

 

The day of 10/07/2015 was dedicated to a workshop on “Constructing Peace trough Art” (i.e. creative Graffiti workshop) and to a visit to the memorial of Redipuglia.

 

The day of 11/07/2015 was dedicated to the Final Ceremony, including the Friendship Agreement Ceremony, the Literary Prize and the Exchange of gifts.

 

The day of 12/07/2015 was dedicated to departure.
